Jim Levine, MD is a primary care internist at Personal Physicians HealthCare. He is a graduate of Haverford College, where he majored in Molecular Biology, and received his BA in 1991. He obtained his medical degree from Cornell University Medical College, graduating in 1995. Dr. Levine trained as a medical resident at the Beth Israel Hospital in Boston from 1995 until 1998. Upon graduating from residency, he worked with Dr. Steven Flier at The Beth Israel Deaconess One Brookline Place Medical Group, eventually becoming the Medical Director of the practice. The group was relocated to Needham and renamed The Beth Israel Deaconess Upper Falls Medical Group with Dr. Levine continuing on as the medical director. He joined Personal Physicians in 2008. Dr. Levine is a Diplomate of The American Board of Internal Medicine. He has appointments to the medical staff at both The Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, The Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Newton Wellesley Hospital. He is a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society and is a Fellow of The American College of Physicians.

Dr. Levine has a strong commitment to teaching. At Haverford College he was a tutor and teaching assistant in the department of Biology. During his fourth year of medical school at Cornell he became a Papanicolaou Fellow in Clinical Anatomy and was involved with teaching Gross Anatomy to the first-year medical students. During his residency he was chosen to serve as a chief medical resident during his rotation through the Harvard VA system. Since 1998 he has taught medical students and residents for Harvard Medical School as a Clinical Instructor in Medicine. He was also a guest lecturer at the 2009 and 2010 Society of Hospital Medicine annual meetings.

Dr. Levine has been honored as a Compassionate Caregiver by The Kenneth B. Schwartz Center for his commitment to patient care. He has also been elected for inclusion in Best Doctors in America®, and has been selected as one of America’s Top Physicians by the Consumers’ Research Council of America.

Dr. Levine is married and has two beautiful children. He has many interests that include cycling, skiing, hiking, music, cooking, photography and reading.
