David Shein, MD

Dr. David Shein joined Personal Physicians Healthcare in 2026 and is board-certified in Internal Medicine. He is a graduate of Boston University’s Liberal Arts/Medical Education program, bringing over 30 years of clinical experience and a background in academics to all the patients that he cares for.

 

Dr. Shein completed his Internal Medicine residency at the New England Deaconess Hospital and was previously the Medical Director of the Mount Auburn Cambridge Independent Practice Association. Incredibly passionate about primary care and teaching others, Dr. Shein has authored an article in the American Journal of Medicine on primary care’s importance, has served on the Harvard Medical School faculty for over two decades–getting promoted to Assistant Professor in 2015–and is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the New England College of Optometry.

 

Dr. Stjernfeldt is an active part of the Massachusetts community, having served on theNewton Public Health Advisory Committee and Friends of Brookline Public Health. He is a current resident of Wayland and has a strong passion for art and upcycling, having held solo exhibits at the Carles River Museum of Industry and Innovation.

Kristina Stjernfeldt, MD

Dr. Kristina Stjernfeldt joined Personal Physicians Healthcare in 2026 and is board-certified in Internal Medicine. She graduated from Princeton University with honors and earned her MD from Boston University School of Medicine, where she won the Job E. Fuchs Award granted to medical students showing “moral strength and who will make his/her patients partners in the medical process.”

 

Dr. Stjernfeldt completed her Internal Medicine residency at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where she continued to practice primary care for over fifteen years. After her tenure at the BIDMC, Dr. Stjernfeldt would go on to become the Medical Director of Newton-Wellesley Physicians Primary care in Weston. Throughout her career, Dr. Stjernfeldt has made it a priority to both teach and mentor those around her, serving as an instructor at Harvard Medical School since 2003. Dr. Stjernfeldt herself is lifelong learner, obtaining a certificate in plant-based nutrition from Cornell in 2018.

 

Dr. Stjernfeldt resides in Weston with her husband and children, is an avid skier, enjoys rowing, and has a passion for 80s music, which her family shares.

Martha Wu, MD, FACP

Dr. Martha Wu joined Personal Physicians HealthCare in 2014, is board-certified in Internal Medicine, and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. She graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Dartmouth College with degrees in Biology and Psychology and went on to earn her MD from Dartmouth Medical School, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society and received the Janet M. Glasgow Award from the American Medical Women’s Association.

 

Dr. Wu completed her Internal Medicine residency at Beth Israel Hospital, then joined the Brookline Place Medical Group with Dr. Steven Flier and Dr. James Levine, ultimately becoming its Medical Director. She has maintained a strong commitment to medical education throughout her career, serving as a Chief Medical Resident during her VA rotation and teaching for more than a decade as a Clinical Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Wu has been consistently recognized as a Boston Magazine Top Doctor.

 

Dr. Wu resides in Wellesley with her husband, who is a cardiologist, and her four children. In her spare time, she enjoys running, skiing, hiking and any activities that involve her family.

James Levine, MD, FACP

Dr. James Levine joined Personal Physicians HealthCare in 2008, is board-certified inInternal Medicine, and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He graduated from Haverford College with a degree in Molecular Biology, then earned his MD from Cornell University Medical College, graduating in 1995.

 

Dr. Levine trained in Internal Medicine at the Beth Israel Hospital, later serving as a chief medical resident during his VA rotation. Following residency, he joined the Brookline Place Medical Group alongside Dr. Steven Flier, before becoming the Medical Director of the practice. Deeply committed to education, Dr. Levine was a Papanicolaou Fellow in Clinical Anatomy and has both taught and mentored first-year medical students extensively throughout his career. Beyond instructing medical students at Harvard Medical School, he has also been a guest lecturer twice at the Society of Hospital Medicine’s annual meetings. Dr. Levine has been honored as both a Compassionate Caregiver by the Kenneth B. Schwartz Center and is recognized as a Boston Magazine Top Doctor.

 

Dr. Levine is married with two beautiful children and enjoys cycling, skiing, hiking music, cooking, photography and reading.

Nancy Corliss, MD, FACP

Dr. Nancy Corliss joined Personal Physicians HealthCare in 2002, is board-certified in Internal Medicine, and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. She completed Boston University’s six-year accelerated medical program, graduating Summa Cum Laude with both her Bachelor’s and MD, and was elected to both Phi Beta Kappa and the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. She also received the Janet M Glasgow Award from the American Women’s Medical Association as the top-ranked student of her class.

 

Dr. Corliss completed her Internal Medicine residency at the Beth Israel MedicalCenter where she also co-founded the Massachusetts Council of Associates for the American College of Physicians. Throughout her career, Dr. Corliss has served as an Instructor in Medicine for Harvard Medical School, teaching medical students and residents at the BIDMC. She has also spent nearly a decade volunteering with Women of Means, providing medical care to homeless women in Massachusetts. With over 25 years of clinical and academic leadership experience. Dr. Corliss is consistently recognized as a Boston Magazine Top Doctor.

 

Dr. Corliss currently resides in Wayland with her husband and their four children. In her free time, she enjoys running, biking, sailing and gardening.

Steven Flier, MD, FACP

Dr. Steven Flier is a Founding Partner of Personal Physicians HealthCare, is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology, and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude from the City College of New York. From there, Dr. Flier earned his MD with highest honors from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he received the Upjohn Achievement Award and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society.

 

Dr. Flier completed his residency in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. At the BIDMC, Dr. Flier served as the Associate Chairman of the Department of Medicine for community practice development and quality initiatives, lecturing nationally for the Institute of for Healthcare Improvement. Dr. Flier was also formerly the CEO of the Affiliated Physicians Group, the Chief of the Division of Community practice and a member of the Board of Trustees at BIDMC. He has twice been recognized by the Kenneth B. Schwartz Center for compassionate caregiving, is regularly listed by Boston Magazine and Best Doctors in America, and recently became the namesake for the Steven Flier, MD Humanism in Medicine award which recognizes exceptional healthcare providers.

 

Dr. Flier continues to be actively involved in his community as a long-time resident of Newton and is a current member of the Board of Directors of the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center.

Jordan Busch, MD, FACP

Dr. Jordan Busch is a Founding Partner of Personal Physicians HealthCare, is board-certified in Internal Medicine, and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in Biochemistry from Bowdoin College and was selected as a Henry Luce Scholar, completing research and clinical workin Kuala Lumpur. He earned his MD from the New York University School of Medicine in 1987, was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society, and received university awards for both leadership and academic excellence.

Dr. Busch completed his Internal Medicine residency at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston and was chosen Chief Resident for the Primary Care Track – among the first of its kind nationally. After residency, Dr. Busch entered private practice as a member of the Beth Israel staff, leading the Beth Israel Deaconess Washington Square Group as Medical Director. Here, Dr. Busch shaped high-access, coordinated care models that underpin his practice today. Patients value his accessibility, clear judgment, and uncompromising advocacy across complex care settings.

 

In his free time, Dr. Busch enjoys fly fishing, sailing, skiing and any-and-all activities that involve his wife and their four children.
